<poem title="The mata mata waits">
<author>Philip Burton</author>
<date>09/02/2008</date>
<verse>
<line>The mata mate turtle</line>
<line> lives in brazil</line>
<line> and has to wait and wait and wait</line>
<line> for its meals.</line>
<line> Most kids would hurtle</line>
<line> back outside</line>
<line> to play, or shout and squeal</line>
<line> or get ill</line>
<line> if they had to wait and wait and wait</line>
<line> for meals.</line>
<line> But the mata mate waits</line>
<line> inside its shell</line>
<line> all night if need be</line>
<line> perfectly still</line>
</verse>
